All food has a story and it is usually the story of the land from which it comes and the way that it is cared for. The story of our olive oil is a story in which you can be a partner by joining our Olive Love program and adopting one of our trees and receiving our olive oil as thanks. As consumers worry increasingly about the use of chemicals and the chain of custody of their oil, we provide the most direct “Farm-to-Table” option to buy or give premium and organic olive oil. See the order form below.
The full story
The story begins some 800 years ago when terraces were built and olive trees planted in the northern mountains of the Mediterranean island of Mallorca. Pedruxella Gran, one of the larger “Possessions” in the area, is situated high up on the south-facing slopes of Tramuntana Mountains – an area so unique it is now designated as a UN World Heritage Site. The story is also about a way of collecting olives and producing oil that from our centuries old trees (“centenarios”) that is dying off as the trees on nearby farms are either abandoned or pulled out to make way for younger, more productive trees that can be mechanically harvested. The centenarios produce less fruit than modern, often irrigated, orchards, but we think the undiluted quality of the oil makes it well worth the effort to keep the tradition alive.
We still collect our olives by hand with our friends and volunteers using the traditional nets and sticks. While we maintain our historic olive press on the property, we are first in line on harvest mornings to press our organic olives at a nearby, modern centrifugal press. Our adherence to traditional methods of collection and the maintenance of our old press have generated a unique registration by Slow Food Espana. It’s part of the love for the oil.
Adopt an Olive Tree, Receive its Oil
We would like to invite you to share in this story and in our love for these trees and the special organic oil we produce. By adopting one of our trees, you will help maintain the farm – its ancient trees and dry-stone terraces – and keep this old way of producing oil alive. In exchange, you will be rewarded with a certificate of adoption with a description and photo of your tree, a map of its location, and two cans (50 cl) of our premium, organic olive oil.
These certificates and the story that goes with it will also make a truly unique gift to the oil aficionado, the foodie, or anyone who cares about quality, integrity and conservation of the land and heritage of an ancient olive grove in Mallorca.
As an Extra Benefit: Discount on a Visit
We also want to share our beautiful farm with as many as we can, so to encourage people to visit us on Mallorca, and to experience the tranquility of the farm and the majesty of these trees, we are offering the first 100 to sign up, a discount of 15% on a weekly rental of the main house or one of the other houses during olive picking season and through to summer. You will be also be registered for our occasional newsletters about food tourism and our very special olive pressing events.

Olive Tree Adoption Package
We offer two packages: a one time adoption for 50€ ($60), or a biannual adoption for 90€ ($100). Each delivery includes two half liter cans, shipping and an information packet about the groves and tree. Please note that sometimes our cans arrive from Spain damaged. We only send out those that are very slightly damaged. We are working to fix this issue but we hope that this won’t reduce the appeal of the package and delicious oil.
