Pedruxella Gran is less than an hour from Palma, and half an hour from Alcudia. Palma has a large airport (airport code PMI) that can be flown into from virtually all of Europe’s major cities (and some smaller ones too). Palma has ferries to and from Barcelona and Valencia. Alcudia has a fast ferry to and from Barcelona and also has ferries to and from Menorca. At the airport, you can rent a car from Hertz, Avis, and many other major car rental companies. Here is an excellent guide to help you with the car rental process: Palma Airport – Transport & Car Hire. We strongly recommend you rent the smallest car possible to navigate the drive.
If you are coming from Europe, there are many inexpensive carriers that fly to Palma – EasyJet, RyanAir, Air Berlin, and Air Europa. If you are coming from the United States, the shortest trip is via Barcelona or Madrid. There are flights from Washington, D.C. to Madrid on United/Aer Lingus, from Philadelphia on U.S. Air, and from New York on United (Newark) and Iberia (JFK). With good connections, you can leave from the east coast of the U.S. in the evening and arrive the next morning in Palma (about a 13 hour, overnight trip).
